A defoamer or an anti-foaming agent is a chemical additive that reduces and hinders the formation of foam in industrial process liquids. The terms anti-foam agent and defoamer are often used interchangeably. Strictly speaking, defoamers eliminate existing foam and anti-foamers prevent the formation of further foam.

Application
As Defoamer
Due to the feature of low surface tension, insoluble, and chemical stability, Dimethyl Silicone Oil is used as defoamer/antifoamer in petrochemical industry, medical industry, pharmaceutical industry, food processing, texture, printing and dyeing, paper industry., etc.
As Lubricant
As lubricant, Dimethyl silicone oil is suitable for rubber, plastic bearings, and gears. Also be proper for rolling friction between steel materials to steel or other metals under high temperature.
Remarkable: In general case, Dimethyl silicone oil is not suggested as lubricant between metals in room temperature.
As Mold Release Agent
Due to the non-stick ability on rubber, plastic and metal, etc.,Dimethyl Silicone Oil is often used as mold releasing agent during molding process of rubbers and plastic products.
As mold releasing agent, Dimethyl Silicone Oil not only demold easily, but leaves clean, smooth,and clear grain on the surface of products.
As coating of lnsulation, dust/mould proof
Applying a coat of Dimethyl Silicone Oil on the surface of glass or ceramics, then making heat treating by 250 - 300 ºC, a semi permanent waterproof, mould proof and insulation membrane.
Usage
1. Addition amount: According to different use systems, the addition amount of defoamer can be 0.05%-0.3%, and the addition amount is determined according to the specific situation;
2. Packing: This product is packed in 25/50/60/200/1000KG plastic barrels;
3. Storage: Sealed and stored in a cool, ventilated, and dry place indoors. Before use, the container should be tightly sealed after use. Around 25ºC, the shelf life is 12 months
4. Transportation: This product should be well sealed during transportation to prevent moisture, strong alkali, strong acid, rainwater and other impurities from entering.
Handling and storage
HANDLING: Keep container closed. Handle and open containers with care. DO NOT handle near an open flame, heat, or other sources of ignition. DO NOT pressurize, cut, heat, or weld containers. Empty product containers may contain product residue. DO NOT reuse empty containers without commercial cleaning or reconditioning.
STORAGE: Store in a cool, well ventilated place away from incompatible materials. Do not store near an open
flame, heat, or other source of ignition. Protect materials from direct sunlight.
ELECTROSTATIC ACCUMULATION HAZARD: Use proper grounding and bonding procedures when transferring material .
